Experience traditional Bujinkan Martial Arts in Murfreesboro, Tennessee
Taigun Taijutsu offers authentic Bujinkan training for adults seeking a deeper, classical martial arts path beyond sport competition and superficial performance.
The name Bujinkan is commonly translated as “Divine Warrior Hall.” Rather than being a single traditional martial art, Bujinkan training incorporates principles, techniques, and traditions from nine separate ryūha (martial traditions). The curriculum encompasses unarmed combat, grappling, throws, joint locks, striking, weapons, movement, strategy, and traditional methods of the ninja and samurai.

The Bujinkan system encompasses the teachings of nine traditional Japanese martial lineages, incorporating principles and techniques involving unarmed combat, striking, grappling, throws, joint controls, evasive movement, weapons, and the strategic use of positioning and timing.
Training emphasizes taijutsu—“body skill” or “body art”—and develops the ability to move naturally while maintaining balance, awareness, and control. Students learn to adapt rather than depend on rigid techniques or predetermined responses.
Budo Taijutsu is not a competitive martial art. There are no tournaments, sport fighting rules, or emphasis on winning points. Training is instead centered on personal development, martial awareness, discipline, control, and the preservation of traditional martial principles.
At our dojo, Budo Taijutsu is approached as a martial art and a lifelong study, combining traditional Japanese teachings with practical training designed to develop a calm, capable, and adaptable martial artist.
Train the body. Develop awareness. Understand movement. Adapt to the situation.
