A journey forged in discipline and discovery

Our lead instructor's path to the Bujinkan martial arts began during a distinguished 22-year career in the United States Army, spanning from 1987 to 2008. While formal training was not immediately possible, the seed of interest in the Bujinkan system was planted and continued to grow throughout years of military service.

After leaving the Army in 2008, the active search for legitimate Bujinkan training led to Doshi Richard Van Donk and the International Bujinkan Dojo Association (IBDA). This pivotal connection opened the door to formal training and integration into the broader Bujinkan and IBDA community.

Mentorship and continuous growth

Throughout this extensive martial arts journey, our instructor has had the privilege of meeting and training with numerous esteemed members of the IBDA and the wider Bujinkan community. These invaluable relationships, the guidance of exceptional instructors, and diverse training experiences have played a crucial role in shaping their development as both a martial artist and an instructor.

This rich foundation informs our teaching approach, emphasizing the importance of mentorship and the continuous pursuit of knowledge and skill.

Cultivating character through martial arts

Both military service and martial arts training have instilled deep appreciation for discipline, perseverance, responsibility, respect, and continuous self-improvement. These core principles are at the heart of Taigun Taijutsu.

Our instructor is motivated to carry these values forward in establishing and developing our dojo, providing students with a safe, disciplined, and respectful environment in which to truly study and embody the Bujinkan martial arts.

"The discipline and focus I've gained at Taigun Taijutsu are transformative. It's more than just techniques; it's a way of life."
